We bought a Fagor Duo 10-quart Pressure Cooker, which has immensely reduced the time it takes to prepare some meals, and it has been godsend when trying to juggle the pot and a baby. However, after using it for a measly three months, the handle broke off already!
This is the part on the pot that broke off:
This is what the part that broke off looks like:
Unfortunately the Fagor customer support sent a reply saying that handles are not covered under the warranty and we need to pay for a replacement. I guess Fagor expects customers to weld these parts onto the pot! What a crock!
outrageous! that should be considered manufacturer defect. hmm… can it be exchanged in store? i’ve been thinking about getting a pressure cooker but haven’t had any immediate needs yet.
What did they use… elmers glue?
Unfortunately it was bought from amazon.com, so I think we need to deal with Fagor. They don’t sell ones of this size from stores. It’s definitely disappointing to see this level of support from Fagor. We’re going to need to see how to escalate this issue…
Did you buy it with your american express card? Maybe they will cover it.
Unfortunately I didn’t buy it with American Express. I should probably check the Credit Card policy, but I doubt they would do anything about this either.
