It is interesting that the day after my video on Lia was posted, we were advised not to let the baby stand or use the exersaucer too early because it will cause Lia’s legs to become as curled as cupid’s bow. Concerned about this dire warning, I put my research cap on and branched out to the world’s biggest knowledgebase, and what did I find? It may be yet another folk lore. Here’s one such example:

Does it seem like a myth? Or is there some basis for this?
Our pediatrician and PT says its okay to put weight on baby’s feet as long as she can tolerate it. Baby will tell you if she doesn’t like it- that’s what our ped said.
its a myth. kenzie liked to stand and her legs (once curved because all babies’ legs are curved) are now straight as a rail.
who’s telling you not to let your baby exercise her legs? toby’s been standing since he was in my belly! albeit sideways… but upright once he was born.
Let’s just say it’s members of the older generation, but definitely not ones with medical credentials. Glad to know that your pediatricians confirm that this is a myth.
